Conceptual Framework

Department of Education

The Education Department at MacMurray College decided to use Reflective Educators Transform Lives as the theme for its conceptual framework beginning in the 2001 academic year.  The members identified the integration of the college’s general education and education major curricula as its unique strength.  Both curricula are designed to develop students who can think critically and write and speak clearly and concisely, who understand the diverse values and traditions of the world and the content knowledge of their chosen discipline, and who use the skills and content of their education to transform themselves, their students, and the world.
