Clinical Practice Handbook
Clinical Practice is the culminating segment of the teacher-training program at MacMurray College. It is not, however, to be considered a finishing experience. Rather, it is a preparatory period under more or less realistic conditions. The Teacher Candidate has the opportunity to grasp the real meaning and value of teaching. One of the results hoped for is that of professional insight and self-evaluation.
The handbook provided on this site is to serve as a guide to promote good working relationships between Teacher Candidate, Cooperating Teachers, and College Supervisors. Clarification of roles and responsibilities can facilitate a smooth transition from "student" to "teacher." Our principle aim is to provide maximum support for all individuals involved and ultimately to graduate competent and professional new teachers. All Teacher Candidates must meet specific standards for admission to the Teacher Preparation Program at MacMurray College.
