Derek James

Head Coach

Derek is a graduate of MacMurray College in 2003 where he competed in both basketball and golf. As a Highlander, Derek earned all conference honors three years in basketball and two years in golf. He is MacMurray's all time 3 point leader and is in the top ten all time in scoring, assists, and steals. As a golfer, Derek earned All Conference honors, player of the year, and a Conference Championship in his final year as a Highlander. He compiled over 4 wins and earned All Midwest Region. Derek was inducted into MacMurray's Hall of Fame in 2009.

Derek is a 7-year Golf and Teaching Professional at Northridge Hills Golf Course. This will be Derek's 2nd year as Head Coach for MacMurray Golf. This year the team has the highest number of participant since the late 90s with 13 players on the roster. "We have had a great recruiting year and know this team will be successful this year and for years to come. Our players will be successful in the classroom, community, and on the course through hard work and dedication." Derek resides in Jacksonville with his wife Dana and two kids Addyson and Macee.
