Danielle Doerfler is entering her third season at the helm of the volleyball program. While at Mac, Coach D has strived to increase roster size and quality growing from small numbers upon her arrival to a prospective 25 roster size this upcoming season, with the implementation of the start of a JV roster. Doerfler has also created a successful alumnae volleyball event working to reconnect the program with its successful alumnae connections. Coach D has also used her Illinois College ties to begin a cross town match between Mac and IC held annually each year with the proceeds going to the Mia Ware Foundation.
Prior to coming to Mac, she served as Head Girls Volleyball Coach and Assistant Girls Basketball Coach at Brown County High School in Mt. Sterling, IL. Coach Doerfler has great ties to the Jacksonville community, having graduated from Routt Catholic High School (’99) and Illinois College (’04).
While at Brown County High School, Doerfler helped to bring the Hornet volleyball program back to success. She not only increased the matches won year by year but also created a fifth/sixth-grade feeder program, a successful summer volleyball tournament, and coached the first volleyball athlete in BC history to earn a collegiate athletic scholarship.
Prior to Brown County, Coach Doerfler also coached volleyball and basketball at Farmington Middle School in Farmington, IL, as well as two IESA state qualifying basketball teams during a stint at Our Saviour in Jacksonville.
Coach Doerfler holds a MS.ED in Physical Education from Canisius College in Buffalo, NY, and a B.S. in Physical Education from Illinois College, with an endorsement in Health Education.
Doerfler resides in Beardstown, IL and is an avid athlete herself, participating in various 5K, 10K and half marathon races.
