December 7, 2013

The MacMurray College shooting percentage rivaled the temperatures outside Saturday in a 61-51 loss Saturday afternoon at Principia College.  The Highlanders trailed only 25-24 at the half and exchanged leads with the Panthers several times throughout the contest.

Coach Derek James' club shot a cold 29% from the field and connected on only one of ten 3-pt. field goals in the second half and faded down the stretch.

Junior center Megan Duisen had nine points and a team-high eleven rebounds in the loss.  Cydny Saxer had nine points and KayDee Carmody added eight points.

Freshman guard Rachel Perea had a huge game for the host Panthers with twenty points, fourteen rebounds, eights steals and three blocked shots in the win.

The Highlanders will host three teams next weekend in the MacMurray College Classic Tournament; which starts Friday at 5PM with Greenville College taking on Saint Mary of the Woods College and the Highlanders hosting Calumet College of St. Joseph at 8PM.
