The MacMurray College women’s soccer team dropped a contest to Knox College 2-0 in their first annual Ferris Trophy Challenge at home.
The Highlanders and Prairie Fire competed evenly in the first period posting a 0-0 score at the half. The Prairie Fire were able to kick a goal past the Highlander defense early in the second half while widening the gap late with another goal to take a 2-0 advantage over the Highlanders.
Knox tallied 18 shots while MacMurray totaled four in the contest. Freshman goalkeeper Briana Jungnickel collected 12 saves in net. Freshman Caroline Keppler led the Highlander attack with three shots and two shots on goal.
MacMurray will travel to Wisconsin Lutheran College on Saturday, September 22nd for a 1:00pm game.
