Menís Soccer Improves to 2-1

September 5, 2012

The MacMurray College men’s soccer team snatched their first home win of the season against Lincoln Christian University by a final score of 7-0.

The Highlanders offense sparked early in the contest as they were able to hang on to their shut out against the Red Lions.  Sophomore Blake Comacho started the scoring parade netting a goal 11 minutes into the game with help from sophomore Connor Winking.  Sophomore Bradley Wise kicked in a penalty kick a few minutes later to add to the lead.  Mac took a 3-0 lead over the Red Lions at the half.

Lincoln Christian's defense could not stop the Highlander forwards as Mac scored an additional four goals in the second period.  Sophomores Cody Cook, Bradley Wise, and Blake Comacho each scored two goals apiece.  The Highlanders posted a new season high in goals during the contest and improved their overall record to over .500.

Mac men’s soccer returns to action on Sunday at home when they welcome in Coe College for a 3:00pm game.
