The 2011-2012 Men's Golf Team will be making huge strides this year. With new Coach Derek James at the reins, the Men's Team looks to build on what was a very promising 2010. Luke Bishop will be a key returner for the Highlanders, being the only All-Conference Golfer returning as a Junior. Other key returners include Juniors Jake Columbia and Zeke Asher who improved tremendously as the season progressed. "We expect good things out of our returners and know with hard work they will be the key to our upcoming season."

James says, "Things are looking good for the future of this program, we have new blood coming in that will make some noise in the conference." Three newcomers with all conference capabilities will be hitting the links for the Highlanders this year in Jay Winkleman, Brad Wise, and Jason Garrett. All three of these players have the ability to turn this program into a success and are capable of doing great things for the Highlanders.

The schedule for the Men's Team will begin at The Links in Jacksonville on September 26th. This is where the newly constructed Golf Team will be able to showcase what potential they have. They will then travel to Decatur on October 2nd and 3rd to play against some of the best teams in the Midwest. "Our goal as a team is to be able to play with any player or team in the Midwest and to compete day in and day out."
