July 2, 2014
The MacMurray College men’s basketball team will offer a youth basketball academy for boys in grades three through eight.
The cost for those who register by July 11 is $50. After July 11, the cost will be $60. Families receive $10 off for any additional child signing up for the camp.
The camp will be held Monday, July 21 through Wednesday, July 23, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. in the Bill Wall Gymnasium on the MacMurray College campus.
The director of the camp is Todd Creal, who brings more than 16 years of basketball camp experience at camps all over the state of Illinois. Creal is going into his eighth season of coaching here at MacMurray College.
The academy will stress fundamentals of basketball and teach drills and habits that will help young players become better players and learn to love the game. Participants will receive individual attention from the Highlander coaching staff and current Highlander players.
There will be camp awards for best free throw shooter, Hot Shot winner and Beat the Buzzer winner in each age division. Each camper will receive a T-shirt for participation along with awards for competition.
