McGinnis leads Illinois College over MacMurray

Junior forward Hannah McGinnis scored 32 points and grabbed 24 rebounds to lead Illinois College (1-1) to an 82-67 victory at home tonight over MacMurray College (0-3) in the annual cross-town rivalry game.

Senior guard Ashley Jenkins led the Highlanders with 14 points and Emily Riddle was also in double-figures with ten points. KayDee Carmody and Megan Duisen chipped in with nine points apiece, and Duisen led MacMurray on the boards with ten rebounds. 

The Highlanders committed 31 turnovers and struggled from the line shooting only 42.9% (12-28). 

Coach Derek James' club returns to action on December 4 when they open up SLIAC conference play at Eureka College in a 6PM start.
