Volleyball Wins Two Straight

     The MacMurray College volleyball team defeated Harris-Stowe University and Blackburn College, snatching a two game win streak going into homecoming week. 

     The team defeated Harris-Stowe University on Thursday, October 11th, 3-0.  The Highlanders took a comfortable lead in all three sets with final individual set scores of 25-11, 25-18, and 25-13. 

     Senior Taylor Soat led the Highlander attack with 13 kills while freshman Aly Ferrari tallied 7 kills.  Freshman Alexa Boyer helped out with 22 assists.  Junior Sammy Petefish led the Highlander defense with 18 digs.

     The team bounced back in the win column in conference play on Tuesday, October 16th when they defeated Blackburn College for the second time this season, 3-1 with individual set scores of 25-8, 25-16, 22-25, and 25-21. 

     Senior Amy Radford led the team in kills with 12 in the contest while Aly Ferrari tipped in with 10 kills.  Alexa Boyer helped out offensively with 35 assists in the contest. 

     With the two back to back wins, the team improves to 6-19 on the season.  The team will host Beloit College for the annual homecoming week contest on Friday, October 19th at 7:00pm.  The game will be broadcasted by MacMurray student Sean Lopez on Network One Sports.
