Girls Basketball Camp
The 1st annual MacMurray College Girls Basketball Camp is open to young ladies who will begin grades 3-8 in the fall of 2013. The camp will feature two different segments by grades. The director of the camp will be Derek James, first year head coach for the Highlanders. James is an inductee of the MacMurray Hall of Fame and Saint Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Hall of Fame. He has been an assistant of the womenís program for the past four years. The camp will be held at Bill Wall Gymnasium on the campus of MacMurray College.
Camp days will feature correct warm-up and stretching routines for safety, ball handling drills, shooting drills, passing drills, free throw shooting, defensive lecture and drills, and offensive skills and drills. There will be competitions in free throws, skills challenges, and shooting competition along with 3-on-3 segments to encourage playing.
Individual instruction will taught by MacMurray coaches and current players. Each camper will receive a t-shirt for participation along with awards for competition.
Youth Volleyball Camp
The MacMurray College Highlander Volleyball Program will be conducting a Youth Volleyball Camp June 11th, 12th, and 13th from 5 to 8 p.m. It will take place in the Bill Wall Gymnasium inside the Education Complex on the campus of MacMurray College. The camp is open to students in grades 5th through 8th. The cost is $50 per student and includes a t-shirt and Gatorade.
Instruction will be focused on the basic fundamentals of volleyball including passing, setting, serving, and hitting and will include instruction from current MacMurray coaches and players.
It is important to fill out the registration form below, including the campers t-shirt size, and send it, along with your check, to the Volleyball office. You will also need fill out the camp waiver (linked below) or be prepared to sign it when dropping off your student at camp. Students may not attend our camp without a signed waiver.
Youth Soccer Camp
Our youth soccer camp is based on Coach Shane Taylorís four stages of player and team development. The camp is designed for youth soccer players to have fun, improve their individual skills, learn about team play, and increase game knowledge. Instruction and demonstration will be focused on these objectives which will include individual and small group play along with small sided games to create an atmosphere of learning and fun.
