Why People Support MacMurray College
More than one hundred and fifty years
after its founding, MacMurray's mission adheres closely to its
original purpose—to encourage lifelong learning, enhance
career opportunities, and facilitate individual and collective contributions
to the well being of society. The success of MacMurray's mission is reflected
in the strength of its academic programs. The Core of the general education
program takes an intellectually progressive approach in using the major ideas
that have formed world culture to reinforce reading, writing, and thinking skills.
Several majors have maintained a national reputation for excellence and have
been widely recognized for their quality. Today students have different experiences
than the early students on campus, but the results are ultimately the same—a
quality education from top-notch faculty at a distinguished institution.
In order for the College to maintain
the facilities and to provide the resources necessary for achievement
of the College's academic goals, MacMurray needs the support
of its alumni, parents, friends, and other constituents. Yearly
support is necessary to sustain the Annual Fund.
