Registration
Tuesday, January 8 from 8:30 a.m. - 4 p.m. in Kathryn Hall, Office of Records & Registrations, Third Floor.
Check-In
You must have your ID to register. If you do not have an ID you may pick one up on registration day in Student Life, located in the Campus Center. If you will not be returning to campus due to internships or student teaching assignments, please call the Records Office at 217-479-7014 to complete your registration by phone.
Publicity Photos
You may request a new photo for publicity purposes in the Public Relations Office, Kathryn Hall, Room 207. Dress appropriately.
Classes Begin
All classes begin their spring schedule on Wednesday, January 9.
Billing Information
Full-time tuition covers up to 18 hours. Students may take an overload without additional charge if approved by the Registrar. There is an additional fee of $320 for directed study courses. In case of withdrawal from a course, you may contact the Business Office as to whether or not a refund applies. Failure to attend a class, particularly prior to withdrawal, may actually increase a student’s financial obligation through loss of financial aid.
Adding/Dropping Courses
The last day to add a course or to register for a directed study, independent study, or career experience is Wednesday, January 16. The last day to drop a course without showing on the student’s transcript is Wednesday, January 23. After this, the last day to withdraw with a W, WP, or WF on the transcript is Friday, March 22. (see below)
Pass/Fail Grading Option
The last day to complete a Pass/Fail form is Wednesday, January 23. Forms are available in the Records & Registration Office. Courses in the Core, Breadth Component, B.A. language requirement, and major or minor requirements cannot be taken on a Pass/Fail basis.
Withdrawal
The last day to withdraw from a course and the Collge without academic penalty is Friday, March 22, 2013. Please note that a withdrawal at this point will not reduce your charges. Petitions to withdraw from any or all courses with W grades after this date will be considered only for extenuating circumstances beyond the student’s control. Failure to withdraw officially from any or all courses will result in an “F” being entered on the permanent record and will be included in the computation of the GPA.
Admissions Health Information
If you have not submitted all required physical forms and immunization records you will not be cleared to register. You may contact Student Life at 217-479-7123 if you think you may not have submitted all mandatory records.
Vehicle Registration
All vehicles must be registered in the Student Affairs Office. There is a $50 semester charge for a parking sticker, which will be billed after registering your vehicle. You must supply your license #, make, year, and model of your vehicle.
