Program
Overview
MacMurray College has an excellent pre-veterinary
medicine program. Over the last ten years 90% of applicants
from MacMurray have been accepted.
The biology major health track is designed to meet the entrance requirements
for most veterinary schools and to prepare students to take the GRE, or Graduate
Record Exam (General version), in the junior year. MacMurray's excellent field
experience program lets students confirm their career choice and gain valuable
experience by working with local veterinarians. Competition for a place in veterinary
school is perhaps more intense than for other professional schools. Factors taken
into consideration by admissions committees include college grade-point average,
score on the GRE, career experience with a veterinary practice, and involvement
in extracurricular activities. For admission into veterinary school, applicants
should have a GPA of at least 3.5 to 3.75.
