Program
Overview
Pre-law is not an academic major. At MacMurray, students headed for law school
work with the pre-law advisor to select a major that will maximize the students'
chances for getting into law school and prepare them for the area of the law
in which they are most interested. Law school admissions committees are looking
for students with excellent grades in any rigorous major. A student interested
in environmental law may choose to major in biology. A student interested in
tax law would choose accounting. Majors in areas such as history, English,
political science and philosophy are always attractive to law schools because
of their emphasis on writing and analysis.
Internships
Students may elect to do an internship for
college credit with an area attorney.
